Troubador lady is worth it if for nothing else than because her involvement permits the single most badass fight in the entire game. Who doesn't love protecting a giant castle from an all out siege with three avenues of entry that you must split your mans between?

It's basically FUMBBL with a less intuitive interface, and 3D graphics.
FumBBL is much, much faster and easy to understand, though the Cyanide game has the bonus of having the 3D graphics and all. Individual players don't seem all that customisable (choice of 3-5 'skins' which are just different fleshtones with the occasional mark on them, and a choice of around 3 'sizes' which are just slight deformations to the overall shape of the guy - like +/- 10% height or breadth, and that's it).
But hey, it's bloodbowl, and therefore fun. The matchmaking interface is a bit 'what' too, but that's probably because there is NO MANUAL and no in-game explanation for what stuff does. You can only play as Orcs or Humans at the moment, too. I'll make a human team later, and continue playing my Orcs. Orcs really are one of the best teams, though.

So. I should be levelling Colm and Neimi, right? What about Joshua? Joshua seems boss.
I try not to use Seth. IN fact, I think I'll leave him at home in future. He's far too powerful, and soaks up badguy kills like extra-absorbant kitchen towels.

Seth is powerful for now, he's kind of meh later down the road. Yes you should be levelling up Joshua. I usually promote him with a Hero Crest when he hits around level 15. Colm and Neimi should definitely be levelled to somewhere between 13 and 15, then promoted. Also...
In the Tower of Valni, there's an easy way to quickly increase support levels. Wipe out everything but the boss, stick the two people you want to increase their support level with next to each other, then just end turn over and over and over. It doesn't take long. Mind you, you can only gain one support level per battle so you'll have to finish the fight then go back in to do it again.
I got Colm and Neimi to an A level support and Artur/Lute the same way. It's particularly valuable because Colm and Neimi get something like +10% Critical Hit chance for being within 3 squares of each other if they have an A level Support with each other. As well as heightened evade.

And for the love of god whatever you do: Promote Colm to an Assassin, not a Rogue. Neimi should become a Sniper.

This is Good Stuff, I will bear this in mind.
I've found an Arena, but I don't think it's the one you're talking about, as only one person can go in there. I sent Neimi in there (at level 1! What was I thinking!) and she somehow took out a level 5 Shaman. Lots of xp.
Fiaryn, do you play FUMBBL? I would be -happy- to exchange punches in the name of almighty Nuffle with you sometime.

Yeah don't worry about it for now. The Tower of Valni, the go to place for grinding low levels up to a respectable level, opens up at about chapter 9.
Colm will seem "meh" right now, but once he becomes an Assassin he's retardedly powerful. He has a high crit rate with Neimi nearby AND Assassins have a chance of doing a flat out instant death attack.
Also is not Franz fantastic? He's my favorite mounted unit.

I am getting my ass kicked on the mission with the fog and the spiders threatening the villagers. Possibly because I left Seth at home.
I know the spiders advance on the villagers, and using Franz and Vanessa to skirt along the bottom of the map while the rest attract the attention of the bulk of the force and attempt to survive gets them there in time to ferry them out, but do I -need- to ferry them out in time, or is it okay to just let them die?
Also, the dude with the Horsekiller and the other guy with the Halberd are cunts.
(I can post in here, it's nothing to do with the Phalla.)

You just need to kill the boss before the villagers die. It's strange that you're having...well, any difficulty at all. I had Franz plow his way to the villagers effortlessly while everyone else did clean up.

Maybe I just suck at these Fire Emblem games?
I wasn't trying to kill the boss, I was trying to rescue the villagers before the spiders got there, which is probably a mistake.
Wanna play FumBBL sometime?

Truthfully I've never played FumBBL. I am just ye typical Warhammer/40k nerd who can appreciate Bloodbowl on a conceptual basis.
ANd yeah I think I managed to kill everything before the spiders were even within a distance that I could see them.

Blood Bowl is fun, but if you're not sure what you're doing and you play me, I'd have a hard time not grinding your team into paste. Ingrained instincts, see. I shall attempt just running for the boss and ganking him, then! Also, other-phalla related. My track record lately: Day 2, 3, 2, 1, 2. I am not a good person to have on your team. I die way too early, because I am way too helpful. The double-kill from Jack and Gosling in the SMT:Nocturne phalla was funny (two vigs), the double kill in the Cube phalla was deserved (brian and obbi-vig kills) but the triple kill in the Pirate phalla? Am I really that hated? Also restarted FE:SS, and I am not using Seth. Though it seems silly, what with the Tower of Varnia and suchlike. (Almost done with all the Chapter 3 in Suikoden. I will pick... god, I dunno who I'll pick. Probably Hugo for canon reasons. When can I put Chris and Geddoe back in the party if I pick Hugo for Flame Champion? Geddoe + True Lightning + Thunder = too much awesome for one world.)

You apparently attract manage to attract from both the village specials, who think you're mafia, and the mafia, who think you're a village special or just too helpful.
I'm not sure I could pulled that off even if I wanted to.

The clunky wording of your first sentence makes me half-believe your 'being an AI' claim. Almost. I apparently managed to attract attention from two vigilantes and the mafia in the pirate game, you mean? Can't really talk about it until it's over, but at that point, sure. Still. I haven't been past day 2 in forever. Maybe I'll just refuse to be helpful next time, and see how that goes. BUT FIRE EMBLEM. Not really noticing any extra levelling from not using Seth, and it's a little harder, but not by much. Maybe next time I deal with that mission, I'll have extra levels and more experience with the game, and thus kick more ass.
