I AM CALLING YOU OUT KAY
To talk about RPG sillyness.
So I managed to finish plowing through Suikoden 3 tonight, and god I hate Sarah. Beating her and taking back the True Water Rune was harder than the fucking final boss RAGE! In no small part because Chris is terrible RAGE! It's doubly annoying because you go from kicking her ass throughout the game to...this.
RAGE RAGE RAGE!
In other news, Jeane is easily the best support choice for the final battle. With Rune Sage A, she drastically speeds up chanting and I was able to have Sasarai put up Canopy Defense on the entire team to reflect everything the boss cast every turn. Only had to cast Kindness Rain a few times while Hallec/Hugo/Geddoe/Fred ruined the final bosses shit.
Now to do Lucs chapters, or not. Hrm.

I am lagging behind, I am only at Hugo's chapter 2. (Done Hugo 1, Geddoe 1, Chris 1-2) I tend to play a few hours each night, but I have a TERRIBLE tendency to grind/play the lottery/etc. I'll try and stop that now, though. I'm totally taking Nei around whenever I can as party support, 'cause... the Jongleur Rune is kickass free buffs/debuffs, and real useful in bossfights. And it doesn't cost MP. And if I need to, I drop the chant and throw out a party heal with her Shield Rune.

Ahahaha. Yeeeaah. If you want a sensible plot, FE8 is not the Fire Emblem to go to.
Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn are. Fair warning though: Radiant Dawn is nightmarishly hard. As I understand it, Normal difficulty in Radiant Dawn is the equivalent of the Japanese Hard Mode for some ungodly reason.

Which Fire Emblem games would you recommend, then? Handheld or console is fine, I can get looking.

Path of Radiance for the Gamecube and Radiant Dawn for Wii are both excellent excellent games. I enjoyed the hell out of them. Path of Radiance is a bit easy, but I still enjoyed it for the Skill/BEXP systems it introduced and the plot lead up to Radiant Dawn.
Radiant Dawn is a game that, if worst comes to worst, don't feel bad about playing it on Easy. Normal WILL kick your ass and it WILL kill off at least a few of your mans eventually. I was lucky to drag my ass out of the final fight with only one casualty.

I will attempt to find them! I'm not sure that they got UK releases, at least, the only people I heard of playing them over here were the hardcore strat-RPG people.

HOLY SHIT, the first fight against Yuber (or should I say... Witchdoctor, DBM?) is pretty hard.
Also, Joshua, or Lloyd. Joshua, or Lloyd?

Joshua was always a favorite of mine.

I gots Joshua on the PA forums, I'll keep Lloyd here. (My hair is blond. It used to be red. Both are suitable avatars.)

Joshua will either piss you off or make you love him, since he's arguably even more absurd than the rest of the cast. He's actually the runaway Prince of the desert kingdom, hurf durfing around.
He's such a jerk ass.

I love hurf durfing jerkasses.
I am sure I will love that ridiculous noblelady Troubador too. But now, Geddoe's chapter 2!
