You aren't really motivating us to give the advice you so desperately crave, you know.

I was just wondering about general advice in Fire Emblem games, specifically Shadow Dragon.

Play it then tell me. Supposedly it's a remake of the NES one, so it shouldn't be bad.

Oh, Law. You're so forceful.
In other news, I'm soldiering along with Sacred Stones (dear god Franz is so good), and I happened to read a thread on Max Brooks' new zombie thing (which didn't have much about his new zombie thing in there) started by... Lady Eri.
I swear, she came across as so fucking CLUELESS and DUMB in that thread. Why do people in Phalla circles admire her again?

We're supposed to admire her? The impression I got was that we're supposed to hold her in contempt.
And be scared of her maths if she stays alive long enough to use them, I guess.

Franz really is preposterous. I love turning him into a Great Knight, at which point he's just an invincible mobile death engine given that he can wield every single weapon.

My opinion of her was to hold her in contempt. Then I read that thread, and was all 'Is she faking her posts here, or is she really that dumb? Anyhow.
Great Knight for Franz, gotcha. I was assuming I was just lucky with his stat growth (he's almost as awesome as Seth at level one, now) but it seems he really is just great.
I need to finish this chapter, then grind the hell out of the Tower to get Ross, Neimi and Colm up to whupass levels.

And that is why I always stress to new players of the game: Seth is worthless. There is no point in using him as anything other than an early game meatshield. Franz outstrips him in so many ways it's just hilarious. I think you're going to like Neimi once she hits a respectable level. Once she promotes and has an A support with Colm she tends to have a 25% crit rate with even a simple Steel Bow.

25% crit rate... ouch.
So which are the suggested supports? I haven't figured out how they work or what benefit they give yet, only that each character only has five 'dots' for supports, and thus could get an A with one person, a B with another, and that's it?

That's correct.
Fiaryn posted a good list about a page back for mechanical concerns. I tend to go for more oddball supports, like Eirika getting an A support with Tana and a B support with L'Arachel, for example, mostly for the lulz.

Tana with an A support in Ephraim and a B support in Cormag is a vicious vicious monster who tends to have a 30% crit rate with a Steel Spear. It might have been higher, I don't remember though.

Each one does something different. In my experience ideal ones are: To have Tana get an A level with Ephraim and a B with Cormag. With both dudes in range, she has something like a 30% crit rate with a simple Steel Lance this way. Also, promote Tana to a Wyvern Lord/Rider/Whatever it is. She becomes pretty solid that way. Pegasus Knights are terribad. To have Ewan and Ross get an A level support Joshua and Gerik. Artur and Lute. Colm and Neimi Quoting so that it's easier to find. Spectrum, you go for Eirika and Tana 'cause you write slashfic about them? Or would that be lemonfic? I never know these things. Also, I would have been more useful in the FE Phalla if I hadn't been killed day 2 by the damned Cochrans. I guess if they specifically targetted me for some reason or other, I'd feel better about it.

It would technically be called slashfic, but that term tends to be dominated more by m/m. A lemon is a particular subset of any fic. I go for that support pairing because I'm a terrible person, or would be if I was real. If you understand what the phrase "And this is why I only write gen fic means", come join me in the Special Hell. I left FWD a ' present' in his PM box for triggering my TRAP CARD in the FE thread, but I don't think he's read it yet. Hee.
